£110k-a-week Chelsea player is put up for a fourth prestigious award of the season

Jorginho has been nominated for the Globe Soccer Best Men’s Player of the Year, taking the Chelsea midfielder’s recommendation tally for the term up to four.

The Italian is swimming in commendations at the minute.

Having already collected the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year, the midfielder also made it onto the Ballon d’Or 30-man shortlist.

Then, Jorginho was put forward for the FIFA Men’s Player of the Year award.

He is tickling his toes in three separate individual prizes, with one currently stored in his trophy cabinet.

Italian stallion

It is no surprise the 29-year-old is being recognised amongst the world’s finest talents.

The last few months have been something of a whirlwind for the £110,000-a-week (Spotrac) Chelsea maestro.

His role in the Champions League victory under Thomas Tuchel cannot be underplayed.

Nor can the orchestrating job he did during Italy’s successful European Championship campaign over the summer.

Not long after claiming international glory, Jorginho was back clinching club supremacy, aiding Chelsea toward winning the UEFA Super Cup.

After that, the personal nominations came thick and fast.

But, he is not alone in the quest for exclusive accolades.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Romelu Lukaku and N’Golo Kante were also nominated for the Globe Soccer Men’s Player of the Year.

Azpilicueta is down for the Best Defender of the Year as well, alongside Antonio Rudiger.

Meanwhile, Edouard Mendy earned a vote for the Goalkeeper of the Year, whilst Thomas Tuchel is leading the way for the Coach of the Year.

Chelsea as a unit are fighting for the Best Men’s Club of the Year, against the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.
