Manchester United transfer news LIVE Man Utd fixture news plus Goncalo Ramos and Griezmann latest

Today is the second day of the international break as members of Manchester United’s first team link up with their respective national sides.

Countries have named their squads for this month’s matches that will take place over the next two weeks, before club action for United and City resumes with a mouth-watering Manchester derby on October 2.

Erik ten Hag will lead his United side out at the Etihad Stadium for his first experience of the derby, after the international break concludes later this month.

United will have 19 players taking part in either the UEFA Nations League or international friendlies, with Scott McTominay likely being the first Red involved for their country when Scotland play Ukraine this Wednesday.

Eyes may well also be on Raphael Varane’s time with the French squad, after United were recently linked with a move for not only Antoine Griezmann, but also Benjamin Pavard – who recently refused to rule out a move to Old Trafford in the future.

“That is what Pep (Guardiola) and (Jurgen) Klopp have been doing for years, because they have stability in the club and in the way they choose the transfer market and build the team, which is really important for them to get the rewards.

“I saw the manager say in a press conference that we do not want to bring players just for the sake of it, we want to bring the right players for what we want to do. It is something the club needs.

“We still have a margin to improve and he needs time to get the most out of us with his idea of playing. I believe we will get to the point with him where we are established as a team and everyone is on the same page.”
