Students of the Federal University of Technology , Akure. Protest against extortion from thugs within and outside the school Campus.
THE OWL NEWS confirmed that Futarians battled against oppression themselves. Engaged thugs disturbing the student community on the 16th January 2022
Hours later The FUTASU President ordered 7 days hold on school activities and lockdown of shops from South Gate to Futa Junction as protest continued the Next day.
The Student Leaders also met with the University Management to submit resolutions as the protest was ongoing simultaneously Today 17th January 2022.
The protest against extortion which was spear headed by General wales as well as few other students Comrades at the Federal University Of Technology Akure FUTA still continues as students came out en masse to fight for their rights
Admist the protest, Protesters contributed close to Forty thousand Naira (40,000) in less than 30 minutes to cook beans and plantain on the protest Ground.
The students also took to social media to post about the event with the hashtag #WeAreFutarians #SecureSouthgate #FutariansLiveMatter
