Messi And Kylian Mbappe Made History In The UEFA Champions League

The final group stage match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League is ongoing. Paris Saint-Germain currently leads Club Brugge by 3-0 goals in the first half. The French Ligue 1 giant has already qualified for Round 16 in the competition but sits in the second position on the group A table as a result of the 2-1 goals lost to Manchester City in the penultimate game of the competition.

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe put the club ahead in just two (2) minutes into the game and in the seventh (7th) minute, he scored his second goal in the game. Though the French international is just twenty-two (22) years, he has not stopped from making his mark in his football career. The second goal he scored made him become the first player in the top five (5) Europe leagues to score at least ten (10) goals and as well provided the same number of assists in all competitions this season.

Kylian Mbappe teammate and the 2021 Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi also reached a milestone in the colour Paris Saint-Germain. He scored the third (3rd) goal for the club in the thirty-eight (38) minutes and became the third Paris Saint-Germain player to score in each of his first three (3) home games in the UEFA Champions League. George Weah and Neymar Jr. are the first two (2) players to achieve this feat for the French Ligue 1 giant.
